Doesn’t matter what country you are in, on a hot summer day, you will find boys at the local swimming hole. Here they run along on the rocks of an inlet from the Atlantic Ocean. This photo was taken in Cascais, Portugal, near Lisbon.

There is nothing like sailing on Lake Michigan on a summer evening with a light breeze, calm waters and seagulls flying overhead.

Spring has arrived and with it, the elegant stems of the bleeding hearts have unfurled to display rows of delicate pink hearts.
A few years ago, I planted one that I received from Jung’s Seeds. At four feet wide and three feet high, it has never failed to amaze guests with its size and exuberant display of blossoms.

Lakshmi Basile, an award winning flamenco dancer also known by her stage name, “La Chimi,” performs in Seville, Spain.
In 2011, she became the first non-Spanish artist to win an award in the prestigious flamenco contest, Concurso de las Minas de La Unión. She also received an award in the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco e Córdoba.

I had the great fortune to meet and photograph the fabulous Lakshmi Basile, an award winning flamenco dancer also known by her stage name, “La Chimi”. Here she is seen performing Carmen at at the El Palacio Andaluz theater in Seville, Spain. Born in the United States, Lakshmi studied dance throughout her childhood and in College. At age 20 she moved to Spain to further her flamenco studies. In 2011, she became the first non-Spanish artist to win an award in the prestigious flamenco contest, Concurso de las Minas de La Unión. She also received an award in the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco e Córdoba.
